The disciplines

How I Work

There is no fixed method. I combine three distinct disciplines and we agree explicitly on the role I am taking at each point.

01 · Coaching

Coaching

Your answers, seen from a wider perspective.

Coaching is a structured conversation that helps you look at a situation from angles you may not be seeing yet. It is not about me giving you the right answer or applying a ready-made formula: you define what you want to achieve, and my role is to help you think deeply, question assumptions you have begun to treat as facts and discover new ways forward.

We work on the professional challenge and what may be shaping it: beliefs, emotions, motivation, difficult conversations and recurring patterns. Throughout the process I draw on coaching tools such as active listening, questions that challenge what we take for granted, shifts in perspective and conversation design. The point is not to apply techniques for their own sake, but to choose what genuinely helps you understand your situation, discover new possibilities and move towards your goals.

What we want is for you to make your own decisions with greater awareness, clarity and confidence in putting them into practice.

02 · Mentoring

Mentoring

New ingredients from someone else’s experience to enrich your plan.

In mentoring I bring my experience into the conversation. I share what I have learned over 26 years leading teams, operations and international businesses; we compare options, read contexts and work with practical tools that may help you save time and avoid unnecessary mistakes.

This can help with a career transition, a new leadership responsibility or business decisions you have not faced before. For founders I use the idea of Zoom Out and About : step away from day-to-day urgency, widen your field of vision, and return with clearer priorities. We may work on strategy, sales, pricing, negotiation, customers, cash, hiring, delegation or leadership, depending on what is needed. We connect the dots across those dimensions to gain perspective, understand their relationships and make decisions that reinforce each other, creating a coherent plan for you and your business.

The goal is not to copy my journey, but to use it as another set of ingredients to build your own.

03 · Advisory

Advisory

Accelerate and anticipate results by bringing expertise into day-to-day work.

Advisory comes into play when a challenge calls for more than reflection or sounding-board support: specific analysis, concrete recommendations and sometimes close support in implementing them. Here I take a more direct role, drawing on my experience in operations, transformation and change management.

We might review how a business works, spot bottlenecks, simplify processes, design useful metrics, improve planning or introduce automation and data analysis where they genuinely add value. In growing businesses, the challenge is often to build an organisation that can sustain momentum without multiplying chaos. The level of detail increases, and my work extends beyond our sessions together.

Advisory does not need to be the starting point or a separate product: it may emerge naturally within a mentoring relationship when a particular need appears. We make the role I am taking explicit at every stage.

At every stage you will know whether we are working through coaching, mentoring or advisory.

FROM PERSPECTIVE TO ACTION

Three phases. Three disciplines that can work together.

This is not a rigid sequence. Each discipline may add value at different stages of the journey.

01

DISCOVER

Explore possibilities

Widen the perspective, challenge assumptions and understand what matters.

02

DECIDE

Turn clarity into direction

Set priorities and build a plan with purpose.

03

ACCELERATE

Make progress with impact

Act with judgement, support and room to adjust.

THE PROCESS

A possible roadmap

This map is a guide: the route and pace adapt to your needs, not the other way around.

An antique island treasure map: a boat lands on the shore and a dotted path leads to an overflowing treasure chest.

First conversation

A 15–20-minute call to get acquainted, understand the context and identify the main objective.

Tailored agreement

We agree on objectives, scope, format, frequency and terms of the process.

Discovery and assessment

An initial 90–120-minute session to understand the situation, widen perspectives and establish a starting point.

Core working sessions (approximately 6–8 sessions)

A series of 60–75-minute sessions covering the stages of the process: decisions and action plan —turning learning into decisions, priorities and concrete actions— and first feedback based on progress —monitoring progress, learning and necessary adjustments—.

Closing session

A longer-than-usual session (90–120 minutes) to review the journey, consolidate learning, assess progress and agree on how to sustain it.

06

On-demand post-process follow-up

If an important milestone calls for revisiting part of the process, we can arrange additional sessions as needed.

Confidentiality and a safe space

The entire process is confidential. Information you share will not be disclosed or used outside the agreed framework. My intention is to create a respectful, thoughtful and safe space where you can speak freely, explore doubts and challenge your current reality.

A space to think freely

Trust is essential for this work to be useful. We need a space where you can speak openly, make mistakes without fear of judgement and explore an idea before you feel obliged to defend it.

Often the most interesting possibilities emerge when we put something unfinished on the table: a hunch, a doubt, a half-formed thought or even something difficult to admit. This is where a co-pilot can help: someone to challenge, connect and test ideas with, and to bring another perspective to what you may not yet be seeing.

That exchange can open up new perspectives, decisions you had not considered and, most importantly, actions that help you move forward differently.

LET’S TALK

Start a conversation

Perhaps the first step is simply a conversation.

You do not need to know yet whether coaching, mentoring or advisory is the right response. Start by telling me what is happening and what you would like to change. Then we can see whether it makes sense for me to support you.
